How to burn Frankincense Resin

Fill a small heatproof container with sand.

Although, incense holders can be purchased for this purpose, alternatively you can use items that can withstand prolonged and intense heat without breaking.

Place a self-igniting charcoal disc (These can be purchased from our store) in the centre of the container on the sand. Light the edge of the charcoal disk with a match or lighter. The disc will then light accros its surface. Wait for the flames to burn out and the disc to begin glowing red.

(If the charcol disc is to be extinguished before it is fully cooled then it should be placed in a container of water)

Sprinkle crushed/ powdered or whole frankincense resin on top of the disc and fan it a little with your hands to start it smoking. Do not overload the charcoal, or it will go out. Use only a small amount of frankincense in the centre of the disc at a time. More can be added as this burns away as required.
